In this episode we interviewed Buket Barkana, a Professor in the Electrical Engineering department at the University of Bridgeport, CT.


Dr. Buket D. Barkana is a Professor in the Electrical Engineering department at the University of Bridgeport, CT. She is the Signal Processing Research Group (SPRG) Laboratory director in the Electrical Engineering program, University of Bridgeport. Dr. Barkana received a B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Anatolia University, Eskisehir, Turkey in 1994, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the ESOGU, Eskisehir, Turkey in 1997 and 2005, respectively. She worked as a full-time faculty at Anatolia University from 1995-1999 and worked as a Research Assistant at the ESOGU from 1999-2001 in Turkey. Dr. Barkana joined the University of Bridgeport in January 2007. Her research and teaching interests include digital signal and image processing, machine learning algorithms, computer-aided detection systems for biomedical applications, innovations in engineering, and K-12 STEM education.
